Carlos Aldario Carlos Aldario Arenas was assassinated on November 9, 2019. He was recognized for being a defender of the Páramo de Santa Isabel and a conservationist of the Andean Condor that inhabits the entire Central Cordillera de los Andes (The Andes central Mountain range). He was one of the promoters of the Ruta del Cóndor, an environmental and ecotourism project for the protection and sighting of the endangered Condor. He also worked highlighting the culture, customs and traditions of the coffee region, through community tourism. Carlos was assassinated at 44 years of age, he loved the páramo, and according to his close friends, he did whatever was in his power to defend it.
